Faux Fur Phase

So I bought all of this faux fur and fleece from fabric land a few months ago with some intention to be really innovative. After facing the challenge of how to cut and sew fur, which is harder then you think, I finally came up with some results i'm proud of. I have managed to fashion together a couple scarves that are very warm. :) Now I have to figure out how to sell them off, one girl can only own so many scarves.

TIPS:

If you decide to venture into this kind of thing here's a few tips I learned along the way.

*When cutting your fur, use an x- acto knife NOT scissors on the back side of the fabric. This makes sure you do not cut the actual hairs. (Also it makes a huge mess.)

*When sewing your fabrics together face front sides together.

*To avoid curling of the fabric when using the sewing machine, hand sew everything first!! Then you can proceed to using your machine. (Don't forget to leave an opening so you can flip it right side out.)

Good luck,

S
